HURON — The James Valley Christian Lady Vikings won their fifth straight game, avenging an opening-round loss in the 281 Conference Tournament, with a 3-2 come-from-behind triumph over the Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Blackhawks in volleyball action at the JVC Gymnasium Tuesday night.
Set scores for JVC were 25-19, 24-26, 24-26, 25-12 and 16.14
The Lady Vikes, now 8-8 on the season, got 13 kills, three aces and eight blocks from Brenna Held, while Julie Blom added 12 kills, Angelina Zuccaro chipped in 10 and Josalyn Wipf contributed seven. Kerstyn Fast had three aces and Karilyn Wieting handed out 39 set assists and also had an ace for JVC.
SC-W was led by Mariah Jost’s 17 kills, while Brooke Doering added 14 kills and had four blocks. Morgan Schmiedt and Ellie Voneye had 18 and 17 set assists, while Kaylee White and Taryn Ziebart each had 22 digs in the match.
The Blackhawks, now 10-8, host Kimball-White Lake tonight in Woonsocket, while JVC is on the road tonight, traveling to Sunshine Bible Academy.

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — A 3-1 victory was recorded by the Wessington Springs Lady Spartans Tuesday night in a 281 Conference volleyball match against the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders.
Trinity Flowers served seven aces and hit 11 kills en route to the win, while Makayla Dornbusch had five aces for the Lady Spartans.

Set scores for Wessington Springs, now 6-12 on the season, were 25-18, 21-25, 25-10 and 25-23. Sunshine Bible Academy fell to 1-15 on the season with the loss.
Beth Konechne served four aces for the Crusaders, three more were added by Dori Brockel and Aja Paul hit nine kills efforts for the team.
Wessington Springs is set to host Wolsey-Wessington tonight, while Sunshine Bible Academy will host James Valley Christian.

WOLSEY — The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds pushed their season record to 13-4 Tuesday night, earning a 3-1 (24-26, 25-18, 25-19-25-18) win over the Highmore-Harrold Pirates in 281 Conference volleyball action.
Carly Marani led the Lady Warbirds with 13 kills, two aces and 20 digs, while Lizzi Brandt added nine kills and a pair of aces. Hailey Clarke had 29 set assists, Chantel Haider led the defense with 23 digs and both Mya Boomsma and Cortney Sprecher had two blocks.
H-H, now 11-11, was led by Haley Husted’s 12 kills and two aces, whle Grace Knox had 10 kills and 11 assists. Courtney Moser had three aces and 14 assists and Kassie Hale led the defense with 38 digs.
W-W is at Wessington Springs tonight, while the Pirates host Herreid-Selby Area tonight.
Warner 3, Redfield 1
REDFIELD — The Redfield Pheasants took the first set, then dropped three straight to the Class “B” power Warner Monarchs Tuesday night in non-conference volleyball action. Set scores for the Monarchs were 22-25, 25-9, 25-10 and 25-17.
Kailee Clausen topped the stat sheet for the Pheasants, charting 10 kills, 16 digs and a pair of aces in the match. Hannah Kuehn had 16 assists and added a pair of block assists as Redfield improves to 14-7 on the season.
For Warner, which improves to 16-9 on the season, Jennifer Aman recorded 14 kills and Nanielle Seymore added 10. Both players shared in two blocks. Ava Nilsson had 31 set assists while Holli Jark scored seven ace serves and Summer Seepaniak added five.
Redfield hosts Hamlin tonight.

Miller 3, Platte-Geddes 0

MILLER — The Miller Rustlers showed why they are ranked No. 2 in Class “A” volleyball, pounding the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers 3-0 in non-conference action. Set scores for the Rustlers were 25-11, 25-15 and 25-14.
Kadye Fernholz had 19 kills and had a hand in two blocks for Miller, which improves to 22-2 on the season, while Madison Wetz had seven kills. Katheryn Aymar and Rachel Joy each had four aces and Rachel Oligmueller handed out 36 assists in the match. VonnaGail Schlechter led the defense with 13 digs, while Aymar and Joy had 10 each.
No statistics were available for Platte-Geddes, which falls to 9-9 with the loss.
Miller first takes on Sisseton and then Sioux Valley Saturday at the Milbank Invitational Tournament and will travel to take on Wolsey-Wessington on Monday.
