DE SMET — Alyce Klinkel, 90, of De Smet, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in De Smet.  
A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 22, at De Smet Community Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Osthus Funeral Home in De Smet. Burial will be at a later date.
Alyce Klinkel was born February 3, 1927, in De Smet to John and Wubena (Boss) Smith. She graduated from De Smet High School in 1945.  She worked for K&K Store and the ASC Office in De Smet.
She was united in marriage to Walter Klinkel November 30, 1947. The couple owned Klinkel Tavern from 1958 to 1977. They enjoyed traveling and taking bus tours, and spent the winters in Mesa, Arizona.  
She was a longtime member of De Smet Community Church and was active in various church activities, as well as serving as secretary and treasurer.  She was also active in the 8&40 Auxillary and the Lets Go Club. She enjoyed collecting Barbies and making porcelain dolls, and playing cards.
She is survived by her daughter, LuAnn Klinkel of De Smet; one sister, Gale (Frances) Minier of De Smet; brother-in-law, Don Druse of Woonsocket; and several nieces and nephews,
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; and five brothers; and six sisters.
