BIG BEND — Darrell Lambie, 65, of Big Bend, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at Sanford Ava’s House in Sioux Falls.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 16, at St. Catherine’s Hall at Big Bend in rural Harrold. Burial will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery. A wake service will be 7 p.m. Friday at St. Catherine’s Hall at Big Bend.
Darrell Joseph Lambie, also known as Lamb Chops to family and friends, was born January 23, 1954, in Pierre to Patrick and Nelda (St. John) Lambie in Pierre. He attended school at Hidden Valley, and then St. Peter and Paul School in Pierre.
He enjoyed spending time with Lenny and Lester Gravatt in California, nephews, Rudy and Tony Gonzales, and especially with his sister, Marie Morgan in Montana. He enjoyed going fishing, hunting, to softball games, basketball games, and powwows with family and friends.
Traveling with his family was one of his favorite pastimes.  He spent a lot of time traveling with Duane St. John, Darrell Danielson, Lenny Gravatt, and  good friend, Tony Big Eagle.
He is survived by his sister, Marie Morgan of Montana; and many nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents.
