Edith Voss, 88 of Huron

HURON — Edith A Voss, 88 of Huron, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. 
Her funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 23, at the American Lutheran Church in Huron with burial in the Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation with the family present will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Welter Funeral Home, or visitation one hour prior to the service.
Edith A. Eckmann was born December 11, 1929, in Cavour, to Henry and Anna (Beck) Eckmann. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Voss in 1948. She worked as a bookkeeper for Sears Roebuck in Huron and Dave Cooks Sporting Goods in Denver, Colo. She also worked as a state auditor in Pierre before moving back to Huron where she finished her career as the bookkeeper for Glenn’s OK Tire. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children, Roger Voss of Columbia, S.C., Jeanne (Jack) Hartman of Huron, and  Jeri (Daniel) Patient of Huron, eight grandchildren, Val (Craig) Walton, Billie Jo (Jamie) Hines, Ryan Patient, Travis Patient, Erica Voss, Heather Voss, Chrissie Voss, and Kenny Voss; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; brothers, Lawrence (Donna) and Melvin Eckmann; brother-in-law, Clifford (Ruby) Voss; and several aunts and uncles.
