APOPKA, Fla. _ Esther L. Kirton, 87, of Apopka, Fla. and formerly of Huron, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at her home.
Her memorial service is 2 p.m., today at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Esther L. Hines was born June 8, 1931, at Stickney to Truman and Helena (Ehlers) Hines. She graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1949, and attended the Wessington Springs Junior College. She was united in marriage to Robert Kirton October 20, 1951. She taught at various country schools and for the Huron School District.
She is survived by her children, Robin Kirton of St. Paul, Minn., Sherri Holcombe of Apopka, Fla., and Theodore “Ted” Kirton of Phoenix, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Mel T. (Ky) Hines of Alaska, Orville (Sue) Hines of Colo., Louise Shaller of Wessington Springs, and Wanda (Dennis) Guttormson of N.D.; and sister-in-law, Bertha Hines of Neb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brother, Wesley Hines; and brother-in-law, Keith Shaller.
