Huron athletes to compete in State Summer Games

HURON — The Huron Special Olympic swim team earned 15 first-place ribbons and two second-place ribbons at region meet, which was held April 26 in Watertown. This is the second year that Huron has had a Special Olympics swim team, as the athletes prepare for State Meet, which will be held Friday in Vermillion.
Also celebrating recent accomplishments is the Special Olympics track and field team, which recently participated in the regional tournament on May 3 in Watertown. All competitors qualified to attend State Summer Games, which is Friday and Saturday in Vermillion. They will compete in soccer and track and field.

The Special Olympics Torch Run will be held at 1 p.m.  today, beginning at the Nordby Center for Recreation  and continuing to Montana Avenue.
