Huron fourth in 11AA preseason football rankings

HURON — Four area football teams are included in the South Dakota Prep Media preseason poll, which was released Monday.
The Huron Tigers, who advanced to the Class 11AA state title game a year ago, are ranked fourth to open the season.
Pierre, which won the Class 11AA state title last season, is No. 1.
Yankton is second, followed by Brookings and Mitchell rounds out the top five.
Clark-Willow Lake received six first-place votes and is ranked fourth in Class 9AA.
De Smet also received votes in Class 9A, while Wolsey-Wessington also received votes in Class 9B.
Other top-ranked teams in the preseason polls were Brandon Valley (11AAA); Tea Area (11A); Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan (11B); Bon Homme (9AA); Sully Buttes (9A) and Harding County (9B).
