HURON — Grant applications for the Huron Youth Leadership Council (HYLC) are now available and can be picked up at the Chamber, Huron High School or any HYLC member.
HYLC is a philanthropic and community leadership group comprised of high school students in the Huron area, that promotes positive youth development and a forum for youth interests. Leadership development is fostered by involving youth in community boards, philanthropy and volunteerism.
HYLC makes investments in the community’s youth by offering grants to nonprofit organizations that will create solutions and opportunities for area youth so they may grow in leadership development and build skills to become successful adults.
Groups or organizations seeking grants must have a direct impact on youth ages 0-20.

Organizations applying for funds must be incorporated as a non-profit organization, and must indicate that the proposed project/service/initiative is not duplicating services of another organization in the Huron area.
The project or initiative must be implemented in the Huron community.
The maximum amount of each grant application request is $500.
Along with the application, there must be at least one test-imonial to the HYLC on the impact the project or initiative will have on youth in the community.
HYLC has a limitation of funds to allocate and will have to prioritize all applications submitted that are eligible to receive funds.
Applications must be submitted by March 13 and grant recipients will be notified on April 9.
