Blake Elaine Mendel, senior at James Valley Christian School, received first place in the Good Citizen Contest for the Daughters of American Revolution Scholarship. Mendel wrote an essay for the competition entitled, “How Has America Advanced the Cause of Freedom in the Rest of the World?” and won the $125 scholarship
