Let us take a look at Billie Sutton’s ads and voting record.
I’m getting tired of his misleading statements. In a blatant attempt to mislead South Dakotans, his latest ad portrays a long-time Democrat Peggy Glover as a Republican. She is the wife of former Democratic State Senator Tom Gover and has repeatedly donated to Senator Sutton’s campaign over the past eight years.
Billie says he is pro-life, but he voted against NB1101, a bill that would increase the penalty for performing an abortion of an unborn child capable of feeling pain.
Billie attended a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood. He voted against HB1008, the “Bathroom Bill.” This supports the LGBT community. This bill protects children in school from a person of the opposite sex sharing the bathroom, locker room and shower with them, when the person of the opposite sex is “gender confused.”
Sutton brought legislation for state-funded pre-K education. This program would focus on children from birth to age 5 attending a state-funded pre-school, which would cost approximately $5,000 per child. This bill was defeated.
Billie has been endorsed by the Queer-Gay-Transgender lobby.
Billie has been in the State Senate for the past eight years and has never passed a bill of any consequence or importance.
