SIOUX FALLS — Marlin Edward Olson, 60, of Sioux Falls, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at his home.
His memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 18, at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, with family present for visitation one hour prior to the service.
Marlin Edward Olson was born May 17, 1958, in Brainerd Minn. to Henning and Judy (Krauter) Olson. He graduated from Wessington Springs High School and attended college in Sioux Falls and Mitchell, earning his teaching and master’s degrees. He taught in Neb. Texas, Aberdeen and Wessington. Later, he cooked at several restaurants in Sioux Falls. He was united in mariage to Sara in June 2000. Music always played an important role in his life. He joined the “The Mission of Love Singers,” a quartet that traveled to nursing homes. Later, he and Sara formed “The Karaoke Krooners” and performed to a variety of programs.
He is survived by his wife, Sara; siblings, Mark (Kristi) Hensley, Aaron Hensley, and Angel Olson; son, Ehrich; stepchildren, Joshua (Rebecca) Watkins, Patricia (Kevin) Wipf, Abigail (Brendan) Hummel; six nieces and nephews;  and 11 stepgrandchildren.
