HURON — The Rapid City Christian Lady Comets took a 5-4 win against the Huron Tigers who hosted the tennis match on Friday afternoon.
“We lost a close one today as a team,” said coach Leah Branaugh. “We had chances in several matches to pull out victories that didn’t end up going our way.”
Although the tigers didn’t make the win on Friday, Coach Branaugh has positive expectations to come.
“The girls singles play was the most competitive of the season today, and I hope we will take that confidence into our mathces tomorrow,” Branaugh said. “I was so happy for our No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles players today in getting wins. They played well and stepped up when they needed to. Megan Clark also played well at No. 2 singles.”
The Huron girls’ tennis team welcomed new member Alice Pisacane, a foreign exchange student from Italy, “She stepped into the varsity lineup and got a win today at No. 6 singles,” said Branaugh.
The Tiger tennis girls will be back in play on Monday at the Mitchell Invitational.
