REDFIELD — Robert “Bob” Donald Baloun, 73, of Redfield, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield. Interment will follow in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery at Redfield.
Robert “Bob” Donald Baloun was born May 27, 1944, in Faulkton to Donald and Roberta (McQuown) Baloun. He attended Faulkton School, Redfield Public School and Northern State University. He was united in marriage to Sherry Groft in June of 1965.
The couple owned and operated the Carpet Store and the Corner Pocket Recreation Center as well as Bob’s Laundry Mat in Redfield for many years. He also had rental property and raised some cattle.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry; children, Robert Baloun of Redfield, Ashli (Dustin) Miller of Mina, and Destinie Harford; ten grandchildren; siblings, Jim (Betty) Baloun, and Donna Woodring; uncle, Buster (Joyce) McQuown; aunt, Deloris Eaton; his mother-in-law, Alice Groft; his siblings-in-law, Glen (Amy) Watson, Dave (Rose) Hazelhorst, John (Pat) Groft, and Jim (Carol) Groft; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill; brother-in-law, Clint Woodring; and father-in-law, John Groft.
