HURON — The Huron Tiger boys’ and girls’ soccer teams fell to the Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Saturday afternoon at Tiger Stadium.
The Gazelles won the girls’ match with a 5-0 shutout.
In the boys’ game, after a scoreless first half, Yankton managed to squeeze a goal in mid-way through the second half. Although Huron applied pressure, the Tigers were not able to push the ball past the Yankton goalkeeper.
“This was a really tough loss for us,” said Tiger boys’ coach Megan Wilson. “We played really well overall, but just couldn’t come up with the win. We had multiple opportunities to score - including a penalty kick - but weren’t able to finish any of them.”

Huron’s boys’ JV team forged a 1-1 tie on the day against Yankton.
“Yankton is a good team,” Wilson said. “Maybe we will see them again during the playoffs.”
Huron’s boys’ team falls to 6-4 with the loss, while the girls’ remain winless. Both will be in action at Brandon Valley on Tuesday.
