HURON — Alumni and friends of Huron College and Huron University are invited for a weekend of nostalgia, camaraderie, and celebration July 19-21, as alumni come together to honor a shared heritage and create new memories.

“Huron College and Huron University have left an indelible mark on countless lives, and this reunion is our chance to reignite the bonds of friendship and relive the cherished moments of our alma mater,” said event coordinator, Kay Hawley.

An early kickoff will begin Thursday, July 18, with a pizza get-together from 6 to 10 p.m. at Square Deal Grocery.

On July 19 join them at the Voorhees shelter in Central Park for an evening of fun and fellowship. Various activities including a golf outing, an afternoon of wine tasting at the Cornerpost Winehouse, and much more are planned on Saturday, July 20, concluding with a meal and music at the Huron Event Center.

Since its establishment in 1883 as the Presbyterian University of South Dakota, this alma mater has stood as a beacon of academic excellence and community spirit. Despite its closure in 2005, the legacy of Huron College/Huron University lives on in the hearts of its alumni, and the city of Huron continues to honor its cherished history through various landmarks and institutions.
