ST. LAWRENCE ó Marilyn E. Blake, 85, of St. Lawrence, died Monday, February 13, 2017, peacefully at home.
Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, at St. Annís Catholic Church in Miller. Burial will follow in St. Annís Cemetery at Miller. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday followed by a 6:30 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. prayer service all at the church.
Marilyn Fritton Blake was born March 25, 1931, in Atkinson, Neb. to Al and Catherine (Murphy) Fritton. She graduated from St. Catherineís School of Nursing in 1952.
She was united in marriage to Thomas Blake August 25, 1954. They moved to Ree Heights in 1958, where they farmed and ranched. until moving to St. Lawrence in 1990. She was employed at Highmore Health Care Center and the Prairie Good Samaritan Center. She was a member of St. Annís Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, Nancy (Chuck) Fechner of Sioux Falls, Kathy Crosby of Cheyenne Wyo., Marsha Blake, and Sandy Naber both of St. Lawrence, and Renee (Todd) Kennedy of Beresford, Bob (Coly) Blake of Wessington, and Brent (Kori) Blake of Miller; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Luanne (Gene) Adams; and nephews, nieces and many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband; an infant sister, Elaine; son, Brian; infant daughter, Rhonda; and grandson, Tommy Blake.
