Rosters set for Saturday’s 3-Class Shootout

SALEM -- The 30th Annual 3-Class Shootout basketball All-Star games, sponsored by First Dakota National Bank, will be held Saturday, March 25 at the McCook Central Auditorium in Salem.  All three classes in both boys and girls will be represented by many of the top seniors in South Dakota, including many from the Heartland area.

VERMILLION -- Huron senior Trent Francom kicked the high school track season off in big fashion on Monday.
Francom cleared 14-feet, 7-inches to establish a new pole vault record at the Dan Lennon Relays at the DakotaDome on the University of South Dakota campus. The vault earned him the top spot in the field of more than 20 competitors.

RAPID CITY -- A sluggish start hampered the Huron boys' basketball team as it tried to claim the consolation championship of the Class AA State Tournament on Saturday at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
A 10-1 run off the opening tip propelled Rapid City Stevens to a 62-48 victory against the Tigers in the final game of the season for both teams.
