Second graders at Holy Trinity Catholic School celebrated Laura Ingalls Wilder with a Little House Day! Everyone dressed up as pioneers and students worked on slates, studied primers and even had a Spelling Bee. Students had their lunch in the classroom from pails and played games like, ‘Who Has the Button?’ and ‘Where’s the Thimble.’ They made Whirly Gigs and played with paper dolls. One student’s mother came and taught them how to make a corn husk doll. They ended the day with popcorn and an episode of “Little House on the Prairie.” The second graders have been reading the Little House books all year and will end the year with a field trip to De Smet.
