HIGHMORE The Highmore-Harrold Pirates opened an early lead and maintained it through the final buzzer Tuesday night, defeating the Ipswich Tigers 38-24 in non-conference girls basketball at the Hyde Memorial Auditorium.
Jada Baloun scored 13 points and Kendal Cermak claimed five rebounds to lead the Pirates, now 10-9, to the win. H-H travels to Miller Thursday night.
Ipswich Anna Nieman scored six points while Tristan Geditz added five points and had a game-high 10 boards as the Tigers fall to 4-15.

Colman-Egan 52, Iroquois/Lake Preston 45
LAKE PRESTON The Colman-Egan Hawks turned a first quarter deficit into a halftime lead and held on for a 52-45 win over the Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks in non-conference girls basketball Tuesday night.
Brynlee Landis scored 23 points and Kaylee Voelken added 17 for the Hawks, who improve to 13-7 with the win.
Adison Moore led the Sharks, who fall to 9-10 with the loss, with 20 points, nine steals and four assists. Hadlee Holt scored 17 points and claimed seven rebounds.
The Sharks wrap up the regular season Thursday against Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in Forestburg.

MELLETTE The Northwestern Wildcats overcame a first-quarter deficit to post a 41-36 come-from-behind win over the Redfield Pheasants Tuesday night in non-conference girls basketball.
Ana Ratigan scored 21 points and snagged nine rebounds to place the Wildcats, who improve to 10-9 with the win.
Katie Rozell scored a game-high 24 points for Redfield, while Kinley Smith had five rebounds for the Pheasants, who fall to 5-14. Redfield is at Tiospa Zina on Friday.

WOONSOCKET The James Valley Christian Vikings came from 10 points down after three quarters of play to roar back for a 63-61 win over the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks in 281 Conference boys basketball action Tuesday night.
Isaac Korell scored 22 points, Jerrad Wallman added 19 and Dax Frandsen chipped in 11 as the Vikings improve to 10-8 on the season.
Jeff Boschee led all scorers with 25 points for the Blackhawks. Payton Uecker added 12 and Bryce Larson scored 10, as SC/W falls to 8-10.
JVC hosts Wessington Springs Friday night, while the Blackhawks host Iroquois/Lake Preston Thursday night in Forestburg.

LAKE PRESTON Behind a 43-point effort from Jase Mousel, Colman-Egan cruised to a 71-49 victory against Iroquois/Lake Preston on Monday.
The Hawks, who improved to 7-10, scored 21 points in each of the first two quarters to lead 42-32 at the half.
Jack Mousel added 15 points for Colman-Egan, while Jackson Zwart had nine points.
Josh McMaster was the lone player to reach double figures for Iroquois/Lake Preston with 16 points.
Ryne Greene and Lucas Peskey finished with eight and seven points, respectively, for the Sharks, who are now 3-15. Weston Woodcock had team highs with seven rebounds and five steals.
Iroquois/Lake Preston will face Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in Forestburg on Thursday.
