HURON Charleigh Brewer of Wessington won the slot race during the 25th Heartland Futurity and Derby on Friday at the DEX on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.
The event attracted more than 600 barrel racers in four different divisions, which was the largest number of entries in 25 years due to being held in the DEX for the first time.
