Area baseball players earn academic honor

HURON Five Huron Tigers and three players on the Redfield Area team earned Academic All-State honors this spring for their respective teams.

Huron seniors Carsen Evans, CJ Gainey, Jackson Mattke, Kolton Ogle, and Peyton Bischoff were each recognized.

Redfields honorees include Elijah Morrissette and Kevin Weller of Redfield and Erik Salmen of Hitchcock-Tulare.

To qualify for an Academic All-State award, athletes must be a senior with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
