Second graders at Holy Trinity had their end-of-year field trip to De Smet on May 7.
The students read most of the Laura books during the school year and used them to compare past and present. They celebrated Laura Ingalls birthday in February with a Little House day and ended the year with Laura in De Smet.
Some of the favorites of the day were seeing the Surveyors House, learning how Mary would write even though she was blind, a picnic lunch, making jump ropes, corncob dolls, and butter, seeing a real dugout house, and of course, riding in the covered wagons.
