Kids Korner (Birth-Grade 3)
Get ready for an exciting time at the Kids Korner this June! The Summer Reading Program will be in full swing, encouraging kids to read during the summer.
This year, we are thrilled to present the Adventure Begins at Your Library theme. The Kids Korner will be transformed into Camp Literature, resembling a fun kids camp or campground. We hope to inspire kids, with the help of our staff or their caregivers, to set a goal to read a certain number of minutes or books each week. As they achieve their goal, they can build a reading bracelet and choose a new charm each week. We have a wide range of activities almost every day for children from birth through 3rd grade, promoting reading, creativity, education, and fun!
We are also excited to host special events such as the United Way Day of Action and Nature Nectar with Tasha from Tinkergarten. For more details on any of these activities, please visit our Kids Korner Facebook Page or check out the librarys online calendar. Stop by the library to get registered today!

This presentation answers the why and the how of that statistic: how congressmen argued against including women in this legislation and what the Homestead Act required. Then, through interviews, letters home, and journal entries of women pioneers, Van Dam provides a glimpse at their lives. Finally, once they were in Dakota Territory, how women impacted the frontier.
