Watertown teams edge Huron 13/14U

WATERTOWN Huron 13/14U was edged by a pair of Watertown teams on Tuesday.

With one run in its final at-bat, the Watertown Black Sox claimed a 9-8 victory in the first game.

After falling behind 8-0, which included five runs by Huron in the third inning, the Black Sox scored nine unaswered points to earn the win.

Josh Gilbert had a pair of doubles to highlight the 7-hit effort by Huron.

Noah Koops pitched the first 4 2/3 innings for Huron, allowing eight runs on on 10 hits with a pair of walks.

Jimmie Marting pitched the final inning, allowing a run in two hits with a pair of walks.

The Watertown White Sox rallied with four runs during its final at-bat to get past Huron 6-4.

Colin Hogle had a pair of hits, including a double for Huron.

Colt Culver turned in a complete-game performance on the mound for Huron. He allowed six runs on four hits with three strikeouts and three walks.

Huron will travel to face Mitchell in a 4 p.m., doubleheader today.
