On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, Market Avenue from Dakota Avenue to the west, will be closed in Huron. The closure is anticipated to be in place until the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 2, 2024. During the closure the Second Street crossing will remain open to traffic and the existing detour to Kansas Avenue will remain in place.
This closure is part of a larger project on Highway 37 that consists of grading, paving, storm sewer, curb and gutter, traffic signals, and lighting through the city of Huron from 9th Street South to 3rd Street North. The city of Hurons utility and streetscape project is being completed in conjunction with the state project.
