Saville, Roach earn non-winged sprint car wins at MCS

MILLER The non-winged sprints invaded Miller Central Speedway for two nights of action on Friday and Saturday.

Glen Saville of Moulton, Iowa, topped the 14-car field for the 20-lap main event on Friday, while Bryan Roach of Welch, Minn., secured the win on Saturday.

Saville started third and snagged the top spot at the finish Friday, while Bret Mellenbemdt of Sioux Falls was second. Rounding out the top five were Jesse Lindberg of Sioux Falls, Roach and Clinton Bruns of Little Rock, Iowa.

Roach led from start to finish in Saturdays feature race. Mellenbemdt was second, followed by Brandon Halverson of Jackson, Minn., Bruns and Braden Ockenga of Hartford.

Joining the non-winged sprints during both nights of action were the Pump-N-Pak pure stocks, along with the WISSOTA street stocks, Midwest modifieds and super stocks.

On Saturday, Trevor Nelson of Warner earned his 10th win of the season in the WISSOTA super stock feature race. He started sixth in the 10-car field and wheeled his way to the frong during the 15-lap race.

Damon Hoftiezer of Ft. Pierre was second, followed by Shawn Schnabel of Aberdeen; Gerrit Van Liere of Madison and Andrew Zastrow of Gann Valley.

Brad Kopecky of Miller claimed the win in the super stock division on Friday. Van Liere was second, followed by Robin Schmitt of Redfield and Robert Schmitt of Redfield.

Jayden Bogh of Huron earned the victory in the WISSOTA street stock main event on Saturday. He started on the pole and stayed out frong en route to his fourth win of the season.

Jace Baloun, who started on the outside of the front row, was second, followed by Maria Broksieck of Goodwin, Broc Stout of Winner and Kenneth Clements of Madison.

Matt Goth of Huron secured the win in the win on Friday in the street stock feature race for his second victory of the season.

James Hoing of Kimball, was second, followed by Wyatt Brooker of Tulare; Stout and Clements.

Jayme Peterson of Highmore won his third feature of the year in the WISSOTA Midwest modified divison on Saturday.

Dawson Zabel of Selby, who started eighth, was second. Rounding out the top five in the 12-car field were Lane Johnson of Miller, Nick Perry of Huron and Jordan Kienow of Miller.

Lane Johnson of Miller led from start to finish in the Midwest modified feature on Friday.

Peterson was second, followed by Trevor Ryan of Highmore, Lorin Johnson of Miller and Kienow.

Cody Songer of Wolsey won the Pump-N-Pak pure stock main event on Saturday. Gavin Walshof Kimball was second, followed by Mackenzie Kopecky of Miller; Jackson Nockels of Kimball and Brooks Johnson of Miller.

Nockels was the lone car running at the end of the 10-lap pure stock feature on Friday to claim the win. Kopecky was second, followed by Brian Hoing of Kimball and Songer.

The WISSOTA late models and modifieds will rejoin the field for the next event at Miller Central Speedway on Saturday. All six regular classes will be in action, starting at 7 p.m.
