SALEM After winning the Region 5 championship, the Lake Norden/Badger Post 260 team came into the State B Legion baseball tournament with hopes to make it to the championship Tuesday night at Cubs Field in Salem.
After three games, theres still a chance those hopes can be achieved.
Post 260 dropped a low-scoring, opening round game to Elk Point-Jefferson Post 134, 2-0 on Friday, as Dawson Noem and Ryker Warrington were the only two baserunners for Post 260, with a double and walk each. Noem and Warrington handled the pitching duties in the game as well, with both allowing one run.
Lake Norden/Badger then struck up the offense against Platte/Geddes on Saturday, taking home a 14-4 victory. Lane Tvedt was the star on the day with a home run, a single, and a walk. Warrington had a double, single, and two walks.
Sunday, Post 260 defeated Salem/Montrose/Canova Post 140 7-1 to advance to the semifinals. Warrington was dominant on the mount, with 11 strikeouts over seven innings. George Jensen had three singles and a stolen base to pace the offensive attack.
Lake Norden/Badger Post 260 squared off again with Elk Point-Jefferson in the semifinals with a trip to the championship game on the line Monday evening, but results were not available at press time.
