To the Editor:
I am part of the group which is trying to make our states primary election system fairer with top-two open primaries. So many people seem to want to approach this issue by talking about whether it is good for their party or their favorite candidates.
Id suggest that is not the way to look at this.
It seems to me we should be asking ourselves what is best for the state and for the people in the state.
Amendment H would let all South Dakota voters have an equal voice in selecting the top-two finalists for the November ballot.
We would be assured of more competitive races as well as popular winners.
That would be great for our state.
