Letter – Langbehn 8-20-24

To the Editor:

Dakota Energy Cooperative is having their annual meeting this Thursday, August 22, with a chance to vote for three members on the Board of Directors. I, Dan Langbehn, am running for the position held by Chase Binger. I am asking the members of Dakota Energy for their support and vote in this election.

I live south of Huron and am proud to say that I have been a member of Dakota Energy for over 50 years where Dakota Energy has provided me and my family dependable service for all of those years.

I am a graduate of Huron High School and Dakota State University with a B.S. in Information Systems. I am retired and enjoy working as a substitute teacher for the Huron School District.

It was wrong that our co-op board sued our own members for wanting information on the co-ops attempt to withdraw from Basin Electric. Our co-op IS the members and the board needs to be transparent and keep members informed and help keep our electricity affordable.

So, I am asking our members for your vote to serve on this board so that we all can keep Dakota Energy strong for the future.

Thank you.

Dan Langbehn
