Northwestern 3, Wolsey-Wessington 0
MELLETTE The Class B second ranked Northwestern Wildcats improved to 2-0 Thursday night, with a straight set 25-21, 25-21, 27-25 non-conference volleyball win over the Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds.

Ashley Haven filled the stat sheet with 12 kills, three aces, 15 digs and two blocks to pace the Wildcats. Anna Brumfield had 11 kills, Ella Boekelheide passed out 24 assists and had two aces and Mikaela Schmitt had four big aces for Northwestern.

For the Lady Warbirds, Samara Clemente led the way with 13 kills. Tatum Luce and Timber Haeder added eight kills and had 13 digs.

Kendal Uttecht had 20 assists and led the defense with 27 digs in the match, while Kendal Uttecht had 14 digs.

Wolsey-Wessington evened its record at 1-1.

Sioux Valley 3, Clark/Willow Lake 1
WILLOW LAKE – The Sioux Valley Cossacks defeated the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones on the road three sets to one on Thursday in Willow Lake.

Set scores for Sioux Valley were 26-24, 25-18, 24-26, and 25-21.

Adison Renkly had a big game for Sioux Valley with 17 kills, six service aces, and three blocks.

Kaedyn Sapp had 14 digs, seven aces, and eight kills.

The Cyclones fall to 0-2. Shay Michalski led CWL with 12 kills on 28 of 32 hitting and also had three aces on 13 of 16 serving. Avery Lee had 29 digs.

Roncalli 3, Redfield 0
REDFIELD The Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers got rolling early and closed out the Redfield Pheasants 3-0 in non-conference volleyball action Thursday night. Set scores for the Cavs, now 1-1, were 25-19, 25-18 and 25-18.

McKenna OKeefe led Roncalli with 11 kills, while Maddie Huber passed out 20 assists and laced two aces in the match. Ava Hanson had four kills, two aces and three blocks as well for the Cavaliers.

The Pheasants got six kills from Cecilia Suchor, Hayden Gall had 14 assists and Charli Jungwirth had an ace and eight digs.

Florence-Henry 3, Redfield 2
REDFIELD The Florence-Henry Falcons came out on top of the Redfield Pheasants in a close five-set match on Tuesday in Redfield.

Set scores for the Falcons were 23-25, 25-19, 26-24, 21-25, and 15-13.

The Falcons win their season opener behind a strong game at the net from Roean Raymer, who had 10 kills on 16 of 29 hitting and seven blocks. Kaylee Vavruska nailed five service aces on 12 of 20 serving.

Andie Rislov had three aces on 12 of 18 serving and also had 15 digs to pace F-H.

Kinley Smith was excellent from the service line for Redfield (0-1), going 17 of 18 with five aces. Charli Jungwirth led the Pheasant attack with 14 kills on 27 of 38 hitting.

Hayden Gall was 73 of 74 setting with 18 assists and also led the Pheasants with 12 digs.

Florence-Henry took the JV match 26-24, 22-25, and 15-6. Redfield scored a win in the C match, 25-13 and 25-20.
