Tigers, Pheasants compete in Hub City Invitational

ABERDEEN Huron Tigers and Redfield Pheasants golfers participated in Tuesdays Hub City Golf Invitational held at Moccasin Creek Country Club in Aberdeen.

Watertown took the team title in the invite, finishing with a team score of 294, four strokes ahead of Pierre. Aberdeen Roncalli and Aberdeen Central finished third and fourth, respectively.

Redfield scored 400 to place ninth in team ranks.

Sawyer Sonnenschein ran away with the individual medal honors, carding a three-under 68 on the day. Ty Lenards and Jaden Solheim, both of Watertown, tied for second at one-over. Watertowns Max Sternwedel was fourth at two-over, while fifth belonged to Aberdeen Centrals Jackson Ravellette (+3).

Connor Zens of Redfield had the best score for an area golfer, placing 34th by shooting an 89. Micah Zastrow shot 101 for the Pheasants, Jackson Rude scored a 104, Collin Dean finished at 110, Creighton Bowar scored 114, and Grady Hulscher rounded out the Redfield scoring with a 132.

Emrick DeDeyne was the lone Huron golfer, shooting 100 to place in a tie for 50th.

Huron golf is back in action Friday, Sept. 13 in Yankton. Redfield will next participate in the Parkston Invite Friday at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell.
