Winner 30, Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central 18
WINNER The top-ranked Winner Warriors won a tough battle over the fourth-ranked Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central Blackhawks on Friday by the final score of 30-18 in Winner.
No individual statistics were available for Winner, who moved to 4-0 with the victory.
The Blackhawks fall to 3-1, despite a big night from Holden Havlik, who threw for 296 yards and two touchdowns on 22 of 35 passing. He also ran seven times for 28 yards.
Ryder Michalek was Havliks top target, snagging 12 balls for 130 yards and a score. Kolby Flowers added five catches for 123 yards and a touchdown. Hayse Havlik scored the other Blackhawk touchdown on a 5-yard run.
Nathan Gaikowski led the defense with eight tackles.
Karter Mebius had five tackles and an interception for the Blackhawks.
WWSSC is back in action on Friday, on the road against Wagner.
Clark/Willow Lake 36, Parker 0
PARKER The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones had a big victory on Friday over the Parker Pheasants, bringing home a 36-0 road victory in Parker.
Emmerson Larson threw for 80 yards on 7 of 15 passing. He also rushed for 87 yards on nine carries with two touchdowns. Larson also returned an interception for a touchdown.
Griffin Musser rannine times for 52 yards and a touchdown for CWL while Ernesto Garcia scored a touchdown as part of 11 yards on four carries.
Parker falls to 1-4. Michael Even led the Pheasants with 11 rushes for 25 yards.
The Cyclones (3-1) will host Groton Area at Clark on Friday for homecoming.
Sunshine Bible Academy 6, Iroquois/Lake Preston 0
IROQUOIS The visiting Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders spoiled homecoming for the Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks on Friday in Iroquois, coming away with a hard-fought 6-0 victory on a fourth-quarter score that would be the only tally of the contest.
The Crusaders move to 2-3 due to a strong run game that totaled 154 yards on the night, outgaining Iroquois/Lake Preston 184-97 in total yards in the defensive struggle.
The Sharks fall to 1-3. Brycen Blue led the home team with 48 yards passing and 27 yards rushing.
SBA travels to Hitchcock to face Hitchcock/Tulare on Friday while the Sharks hold homecoming in Lake Preston Friday against second-ranked Dell Rapids St. Marys.
Wolsey-Wessington 36, Platte-Geddes 14
PLATTE The Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds defeated the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers Friday by the score of 36-14 in Platte.
The Warbirds, now 4-0 and ranked fourth in the state, rolled up 413 total yards of offense en route to the dominant victory. Caleb Richmond ran for 138 yards on nine carries, scoring three times. He also completed 9 of 17 passes for 160 yards and two scores.
Both of his touchdown passes went to Moshe Richmond, who ended the day with 94 yards on five catches along with the two scores.
Peyton Rainford rushed for 93 yards on 13 carries and Ethan Rearick gained 70 yards on 11 carries for the Warbirds.
Individual statistics were not available for the Black Panthers, who fall to 1-4.
The Warbirds will host Gregory Friday.
