GETTYSBURG The Highmore-Harrold boys cross country team finished second at the Battler Invitational on Saturday.
North Central won the boys team title with 12 points, while the Pirates were 12 points back in second. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte was third at 33, followed by Herreid/Selby Area at 39 and Ipswich at 46.
Highmore-Harrold had four of the top 13 runners. Brooks McPeak was fourth at 17:29.25, while Jordan Erfman was 11th at 18:48.00. Carter Webb and Aidan Ferens occupied spots No. 12 and 13, respectively, with times of 18:56.27 and 19:01.17.
Wamni Kills Crow of McLaughlin won the varsity boys race in 16:41.72.
Warner had four of the top seven runners to win the girls team title with eight points.
Potter County was second in the final girls standings at 18, followed by Faulkton at 34, North Central at 42 and Mobridge-Pollock at 48.
Madisyn Gellhaus of Ipswich turned in a winning time of 19:11.83 for the varsity girls.
Autumn Fallis of Highmore-Harrold was third at 19:51.32. Darby Boersma of Sunshine Bible Acaemy was 24th at 23:28.44, followed by Jaylynn Knox of Highmore-Harrold at 23:49.85.
