CHAMBERLAIN The Miller Rustlers, ranked fourth in the state, swept past the Chamberlain Cubs in straight sets Tuesday in Chamberlain.
Set scores for Miller, now 16-1, were 25-11, 25-9, and 25-12.
Paige Werdel led the Rustler attack with 14 kills on 20 of 21 hitting. Jolie Palmer had eight digs and also scored three aces on 13 of 16 serving.
Aleah Schlechter had a strong all-around game, with nine kills on 12 of 13 hitting, one ace on 5 of 6 serving, and six digs.
Olivia Resel was 60 of 62 setting with 34 assists.
The Rustlers will travel to Parkston on Thursday.
Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0
MILLER The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots, ranked fourth in the state, remained undefeated with a sweep of Sunshine Bible Academy Tuesday at the SBA Event Center.
The Lady Patriots move to 20-0 behind impressive serving, led by Lila Johnson who was 20 of 21 serving with nine aces.
Gracyn Bixler had four aces on 11 of 13 serving while Olivia Knox also had four aces on 11 of 11 serving.
Katelyn Schroeder led the H-T attack with eight kills on 16 of 17 hitting. Lila Johnson had 18 assists on 34 of 35 setting.
Johnson and Schroeder led the defense with five digs apiece.
The Crusaders fell to 0-15. Tessa Hinman had five digs to pace the SBA defense.
Both teams are off until the 281 Conference tournament on Saturday in Wessington Springs.
Clark/Willow Lake 3, De Smet 0
WILLOW LAKE The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones swept the De Smet Bulldogs on Tuesday 25-20, 25-21, and 25-20 Tuesday in Willow Lake.
Clark/Willow Lake moves to 12-4 behind 14 kills from Shay Michalski on 15 of 16 hitting. Shelby Begeman added 13 kills on 17 of 18 hitting and also had seven blocks.
Kadee Frankfurth led the Cyclone defense with 11 digs while Sami Brenden had 36 assists to set up the offense.
No individual statistics were available for the Bulldogs (7-9).
The Cyclones will travel to Aberdeen Roncalli on Thursday while the Bulldogs will travel Thursday to Estelline to face Estelline/Hendricks.
Northwestern 3, Redfield 0
MELLETTE The Northwestern Wildcats, ranked fifth in the latest Class B volleyball polls, powered past the Redfield Pheasants 3-0 Tuesday night in non-conference action.
Set scores for the Wildcats, who improve to 19-4, were 25-12, 25-9 and 25-12.
Ashley Haven collected 16 kills and had three aces to pace the Northwestern attack. Ella Boekelheide had 32 set assists and also had three aces. while Anna Brumfield had seven kills.
Payton Grandpre led the defense with 10 digs in the match.
For Redfield, Charlie Jungwirth had four kills and Kinley Smith added three. Hayden Gall had six set assists and an ace in the match and both Brooklynn Rische and Kendyl Siebrecht had five digs.
Redfield (3-12) travels to Hamlin on Thursday.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 3, Highmore-Harrold 0
HIGHMORE The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks pushed their season record to 8-6 Tuesday night, with a straight-sets win over the Highmore-Harrold Pirates at Hyde County Memorial Auditorium.
Set scores for the Blackhawks were 25-13, 25-19 and 25-14.
The Pirates fall to 5-11.
Kaylie Robinson led SC/W with 11 kills and three aces, while Alexa Goertz adde nine kills. Addi Bartholow had three aces, while both Kenzie Schley and Kali Hofer had 13 assists and both also had 10 digs.
H-H was led by Jada Balouns seven kills and one ace, while Brooklyn Baloun had 14 assists and also had an ace and Addison McDonnell had five kills and a pair of aces.
The Blackhawks host James Valley Christian on Thursday and then both are in action Saturday at the 281 Conference tournament in Wessington Springs.
Wessington Springs 3, Corsica-Sticney. 2
WESSINGTON SPRINGS – The Wessington Springs Lady Spartans outlasted the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars Tuesday in a five-set match in Wessington Springs.
The Lady Spartans move to 9-5 behind set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, and 15-4.
Taylor Braun nailed four aces to lead a strong serving night for the Lady Spartans. Mariah Messmer had 23 assists and three aces.
Ashlyn Weber had eight kills while Kendall Kolousek had eight kills and three service aces.
The Jaguars fall to 7-7. Braylee Bordewyk had four aces and 20 assists while Sophia Delange had 17 kills and three blocks.
Springs travels to Bridgewater-Emery Thursday.
