To the Editor:
After reading Michael Buschs latest letter, I need to respond.
He keeps saying the inflation rate is 19.7%. Other than in 1917, when it was 17.8%, it has never been that high. The inflation rate currently is 2.5%.
Contrary to Mr. Buschs statement that Trumps charges were made up, I would remind him that Trump was tried and convicted by a jury of 12 impartial citizens, like most court cases. Trumps attorneys had the same opportunity to challenge potential jurors before the trial, as did the prosecutors.
As for the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, maybe Mr. Busch should check and see who the Commander in Chief was? It wasnt Pelosi or Mayor Bowser, it was the President of the United States.
The rioters were there at the invitation of Trump. He sat in the White House for over three hours, watching destruction, injuries and death result from his inaction. The rioters left after he told them to go home, which he should have done right away. Instead, he has placed blame on everyone else, when he was the one responsible for all that happened.
I read the Attorney Generals explanation of Amendment G and the ad place in the paper by the Life Defense Fund, with their explanation. It is apparent that someone is in violation of the 9th Commandment, Thou Shall not Lie. I am more inclined to believe the AGs explanation. I have tried to call the phone number on the ad three times and never received a response.
Gov. Noem mentions she is voting against Amendment G. She touts her efforts to support mothers and children during pregnancy and after. Perhaps that is the reason she turned down the $7.5 million in federal funds, which would have fed approximately 63,000 needy children over the summer.
