WESSINGTON SPRINGS Using set scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-19, Wessington Springs swept Highmore-Harrold in a 281 Conference match on Thursday.
The Lady Spartans, who improved to 11-9, were led by Ashlyn Weber and Raygen Teveldal with sevent kills each.
Kendall Kolousek had four aces for Wessington Springs, while Mariah Messmer was also perfect on 10 serves with three aces. Logan Mohling added three aces.
Messmer also recorded 20 assists, while Mohling and Kolousek had 15 and 11 digs respectively.
Jada Baloun had five kills for Highmore-Harrold, while Addison McDonnell had five kills and Lainee Ping had four kills.
Emma Ferens and Ping each had an ace serve for the Pirates.
Brooklyn Baloun had a team-high 13 assists and 13 digs for Highmore-Harrold. Morgan McCloud had 12 digs and Ping had 11 digs.
Wessington Springs travels to play Sunshine Bible Academy on Tuesday, while Highmore-Harrold (8-13) hosts Wolsey-Wessington on Tuesday.
Miller 3 , Hitchcock-Tulare 0
MILLER In a battle between the fourth-ranked teams in Class A and B, it was Class As Miller emerging with a sweep against Class Bs Hitchcock-Tulare.
The Rustlers, who improved to 19-1, used set scores of 29-27, 25-17 and 25-23 to win the match.
Paige Werdel wass 31 of 35 attacking with 10 kills for Miller, while Aleah Schlechter was 18 of 21 with eight kills. Kaihlyn Anderberg was 20 of 20 with seven kills and Gracen Werdel had four kills on 17 of 29 hits.
Kate Lichty recorded three aceson 14 of 16 serving for the Rustlers, while Schlechter had a pair of aces on 11 of 12 serving. Paige Werdel was perfect on 12 serves with an ace and Jolie Palmer was 13 of 15 with an ace.
Olivia Resel was 111 of 112 setting with 33 assists for Miller. She also had a team-high 15 digs on 23 of 25 passing.
Schlechter finished with 14 digs on 12 of 12 passing, while Paige Werdel and Lichty each had seven digs.
Katelyn Schroeder tallied 17 kills to lead Hitchcock-Tulare, which is now 23-2. Ella Johnson and Rebecca Huizenga had eight and five kills, respectively.
Schroeder had an ace serve and 12 digs for Lady Patriots.
Cambree Hoekman had a team-high 17 digs, while Lila Johnson had 12 digs and 20 assists and Gracyn Bixler had 11 assists.
Cora Hofer had a solo and four assisted blocks for Hitchcock-Tulare, whle Isabel Gilbert had a solo and three assisted blocks.
Both teams return to action Tuesday. Miller hosts Platte-Geddes, while Hitchcock-Tulare is at Castlewood.
Iroquois/Lake Preston 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0
MILLER Iroquois/Lake Preston inked a sweep agianst Sunshine Bible Academy on Thursday in a 281 Conference matchup.
The Sharks claimed the win with set scores of 25-19, 25-11 and 25-17.
Natalie Cundh had a team-high 13 kills for I/LP, while Hadlee Holt and Amelia Holland each had eight kills. Kera Dubro added six kills.
Holt and Dubro finished with four and three aces, respectively, for the Sharks. Brityn Davies had 17 assists, while Dubro recorded 23 digs.
Natasha Appel led SBA with six kills, while Dakota Boersma and Ciera Mickelson eachhad three kills and Soleil Mickelson and Breanna Thieman each had two kills.
Abby Hinman and Appel each had an ace serve for the Crusaders. Hinman also had eight assists, while Kennedy Keck and Boersma had 10 and five digs, respectively, and Ciera Mickelson had two blocks.
Iroquois/Lake Preston, which is 4-13, travels to play Elkton-Lake Benton on Monday. Sunshine Bible Academy (0-17) hosts Wessington Springs on Tuesday.
De Smet 3, Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 0
DE SMET With set scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-18, De Smet recorded a sweep against Oldham-Ramona-Rutland on Thursday.
Hazel Luethmers had 16 kills to lead De Smet, which improved to 10-9. She also had 13 digs and three blocks.
Mirra Beck and Brooke Jennings finished with eight and six kills, respectively, for the Lady Bulldogs. Alyssa Asleson had four ace serves, while Luethmers and Aubree Blue each had two aces.
Megan Dylla tallied 25 assits and had nine digs for De Smet, while Beck had 13 digs. Jennings had a pair of blocks and Ivey Schoenfelder had a block.
Camlin Schneider had 12 kills and three blocks for Oldham-Ramona-Rutland, which is now 5-14. Emily Matson and Jordyn Reagle each had a pair of aces. Matson also had 12 assists.
Bailey Hyland and Bella Malisch finished with 10 and eight digs, respectively.
De Smet hosts Hamlin on Tuesday. Oldhama-Ramona-Rutland is at Freeman on Tuesday.
Clark/Willow Lake 3 , Redfield 0
REDFIELD The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones dispatched the Redfield Pheasants in straight sets Thursday night at the Redfield High School Gym. Set scores for the Cyclones, now 13-6, were 25-10, 25-16 and 25-19.
Shay Michalski collected 14 kills and had four solo blocks in the match, while Sami Brenden facilitated 28 assists and Kadee Frankfurth had 11 digs. Kate Larson contributed four ace serves for C/WL.
Ceci Suchor had five kills and Charli Jungwirth added four for the Pheasants, who fall to 3-14. Hayden Gall had 10 assists and contributed two aces in the match.
Redfield travels to face Class B power Warner on Tuesday, while the Cyclones host Flandreau in Willow Lake, also on Tuesday.
