Middle School volleyball 10-16-24

HURON Aberdeen recorded a sweep against the Huron seventh-grade volleyball teams on Tuesday.

Aberdeen used back-to-back scores of 25-18 to win the A-match 2-0.

Alyssa Urena was perfect on three attacks with three kills, while Arianna James was 4 of 5 hitting with a kill and Lylli Hofer had two kills on 2 of 2 spikes.

Urena was 8 of 9 serving with two aces, while Bricia Miller was 6 of 7 with two aces. James and Hofer were both 5 of 5 serving, while Sofialin Lian was 2 of 4 with an ace and MaKenna Porisch was 2 of 3.

Aberdeen used set scores of 25-8 and 25-16 to win the B-match.

Maddie McGaugh was 6 of 6 serving with a pair of aces for Huron. Miller was 3 of 4 with an ace, while Mercy Htoo was 1 of 1 with an ace and Porisch was 2 of 2.

Aberdeen claimed the C-match with set scores of 25-20 and 25-11.

Tiana Parker had six aces on 7 0f 8 serving for the Tigers, while Lay Htee was 2 of 4 with and ace.

Grace Htoo was 3 of 3 and McGaugh was 2 of 3.

Huron will travel to play Brookings on Thursday.

Eighth-grade
Huron won one of three matches against Aberdeen on Tuesday.

The Tigers used set scores of 25-18 and 25-23 to claim their lone win in the A-match.

Arian Pfitzer was 12 of 13 with sis kills to lead Huron, while Ramsey Rozell had five kills on 5 of 6 attacks. Jayla Schley converted on 11 of 14 hits with four kills, while Cora Wilk and Autumn Seidschlag each had three kills.

Lana Sharry was perfect on 10 serves and had four aces for the Tigers, while Rozell was 15 of 15 with two aces and had 16 assists. Talley Hins, Seidschlag and Pfitzer each had an ace.

Aberdeen claimed the B-match with set scores of 26-24 and 25-16.

Laney Marshall had two kills on 5 of 7 attacks for the Tigers, while Rebeccah Htoo had a kill on 1 of 1 hits and Andrea Estrada was 2 of 4 hitting.

Sharry tallied three aces on 6 of 8 serving for Huron. Estrada had two aces on 7 of 8 serves, while Jesse Mattke was also 7 of 8 serving with two aces and Hser Htoo had an ace on 5 of 5 serving.

Aberdeen also won the C-match with scores of 25-19 and 25-13.

Jazmine Clark was 12 of 12 serving with two aces for the Tigers. Eh Hter Say was 2 of 3 with an ace, while Ovilla Mendanca was 4 of 4 and Melanie Morales was 4 of 5.

Huron travels to play Brookings on Thursday.
