HURON Pierre won team titles in both the boys and girls divisions during the Roger Loecker Invite on Thursday at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
The Governors finished with 74 points to edge Yankton by three points in the final boys standings. Tea Area was third at 79, followed by Watertown at 81, Brookings at 96; Mitchell at 124, Aberdeen Central at 170 and Huron at 187.
Dane Stark of Watertown won the boys race in 16:51.01, while Caleb Morris of Pierre was second at 17:03.31.
TJ Lien was the top runner for Huron with a time of 18:16.34 to finish ninth, while Teagan Lien turned in a 19:32.98 to finish 37th. Rounding out the lineup was James Wier, who was 43rd at 20:05.86; Alec Pester, who was 49th at 20:39.04; and Angelo Medina, who was 51st at 21:23.18.
Pierre finished with 44 points to claim the girls title. Tea Area was second at 51, followed by Watertown at 80, Aberdeen Central at 85, Yankton at 98 and Huron at 166.
Emery Larson turned in a winning time of 19:14.79 in the girls race for Pierre, while Jaycie Babb of Tea Area was second at 19:51.52.
Josie Vlieger led Huron with a 22:12.31 to finish 22nd, while Nora Pester and Lily Swanson were in spots No. 36 and 39, respectively, with times of 23:01.00 and 23:19.89.
Rounding out the roster for the Tigers were Lily Meyer, who was 45th at 23:51.52; and Hannah Schoenfelder, who was 53rd at 25:02.24.
The Class AA teams will closes the season at the State Meet, which is scheduled Oct. 26 in Rapid City.
