REDFIELD The Webster Area Bearcats pushed their season record to 9-10 Thursday night, with a straight sets (25-19, 25-23, 25-19) win over the Redfield Pheasants at the Redfield High School gym. The Pheasants fall to 3-16 with the loss.
Mallory Stever had eight kills and two blocks to lead the Bearcats, while Allie Case had three aces and 14 digs. Erin Sonnes added six kills and Jersey Johnson amassed 24 digs and added an ace.
For Redfield, Kinley Smith had five kills and nine digs. Hayden Gall had 13 sets assists and Layla Hardie had the lone Pheasant ace serve on the night.
Redfield hosts the Redfield Invitational Tournament on Saturday, opening play against Potter County.
Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Castlewood 0
CASTLEWOOD – The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots snapped a two-game losing streak with a sweep of the Castlewood Warriors Tuesday night in Castlewood.
Set scores for Hitchcock-Tulare, now 24-2, were 25-11, 25-17, and 25-12.
The Lady Patriots were led on the attack by Katelyn Schroeder, with 20 kills on 30 of 31 hitting.
Lila Johnson had five aces on 19 of 19 serving and also led the team with 18 assists on 45 of 45 setting. Ella Johnson added three aces on 20 of 20 serving.
Cambree Hoekman paced the defense with 17 digs.
Wolsey-Wessington 3, Highmore-Harrold 0
HIGHMORE – The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds swept the Highmore-Harrold Pirates 25-15, 25-20, and 25-8 on Tuesday in 281 Conference regular season action in Highmore.
The Lady Warbirds move to 18-6 on the year behind 16 kills on 24 of 29 hitting and five blocks from Samara Clemente. Shae Uttecht led the defense with 20 digs.
Kendal Uttecht set up the offense with 31 assists on 73 of 73 setting and had one ace serving on 10 of 10 serves. Tatum Luce was 13 of 14 serving with two aces.
The Pirates fall to 8-14 on the season despite a strong night from Addison McDonnel, who had three aces on 10 of 10 serving and 10 kills on 25 of 26 hitting.
Brooklyn Baloun was 53 of 54 setting with 11 assists and Destiney McCauley had 11 digs for H-H.
Estelline/Hendricks 3, James Valley Christian 0
HURON – The Estelline/Hendricks Redhawks swept past the James Valley Christian Lady Vikings on Tuesday at the JVC gym.
Set scores for the Redhawks were 25-10, 25-10, and 25-18.
Presly Bury had five service aces and 13 assists to lead the Redhawks, now 8-10. Brooke Johnson led the attack with eight kills.
Ella Anderson had six kills and 18 digs for the Lady Vikings, now 1-13. Addison Kleinsasser had two aces on 9 of 10 serving.
