ETHAN The fourth-ranked Miller Rustlers moved to 25-1 on the season with a 25-16, 25-18, and 25-18 sweep of the Ethan Rustlers on Friday in Ethan.
The Rustlers were led by Olivia Resel, who set up the offense with 30 assists on 86 of 87 setting while adding three service aces on 15 of 15 serving.
Jolie Palmer paced the Miller defense with 20 digs and also had three aces on 13 of 14 serving.
Paige Werdel led the Rustler attack with nine kills on 24 of 27 hitting. Kate Lichty added eight kills on 11 of 13 hitting.
No individual statistics were available for Ethan, who falls to 15-8.
The Rustlers are back in action Tuesday, closing out the regular season by hosting Highmore-Harrold.
Bridgewater-Emery 3, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 0
FORESTBURG – The Bridgewater-Emery Huskies swept the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks on Friday at Sanborn Central High School in Forestburg.
The Huskies move to 17-4 behind set scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 25-19.
Oakley Weber had a strong all-around game for the Huskies, with 19 set assists, 15 digs, and 10 kills. Hayden Hofer led the B-E attack with 13 kills.
Maizey Strombeck paced the defense with 17 digs and had two service aces while Aleigha Kroger added two aces.
The Blackhawks fall to 16-9. Addison Bartholow led the attack with nine kills on 22 of 25 hitting. Kaylie Robinson had eight kills on 27 of 29 hitting and 12 digs.
Makenzie Schley had 14 assists. Tatiana Roberts was 9 of 9 with two aces.
The Blackhawks close the season with a pair of road games, Monday at Howard and Tuesday against Mt. Vernon/Plankinton in Mt. Vernon.
