Wolsey-Wessington 3, Arlington 0
WOLSEY The second-seeded Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds ousted the Arlington Cardinals in straight sets Tuesday night, 25-19, 25-20 and 25-17, in Region 2B volleyball and will play Thursday night for a shot at the SoDak 16.

The Lady Birds, now 23-7 on the season, were led by Samare Clementes 15 kills, while Roxy Glanzer added eight big swings.

Kendal Uttecht had the offense on lock with 39 set assists in the match while Shae Uttecht had 19 digs and an ace.
Timber Haeder also had 19 digs.

Arlington, which ends the season with a mark of 14-19, was led by Jaelyn Huntimers 10 kills, 14 digs and an ace.

Sony Johnson had 20 assists and an ace.

Madi Bacon had 14 digs and Ellie Vincent added six kills for the Cardinals.

De Smet 3, Wessington Springs 0
WOLSEY The De Smet Bulldogs will face top seeded Castlewood Thursday night, after downing the Wessington Springs Spartans 25-12, 25-15 and 25-22 in a quarterfinal matchup in Region 2B.

The Bulldogs got 27 huge kills from Hazel Luethmers, while both Mirra Beck and Ivey Schoenfelder chipped in five kills.

Megan Dylla had 36 set assists in the match and Brooke Jennings led the defense with 14 digs.

Wessington Springs got seven kills from Katilyn, while Ashlyn added six kills and had 19 digs.

Mariah Messmer had 17 assists in the match.

De Smet, now 16-12 will play for a slot in the SoDak 16 on Thursday night. Wessington Springs ends its season with a record of 14-15.

Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Tiospa Zina 0
TULARE The second-seeded Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots made quick work of the Tiospa Zina Wambdi Tuesday night, pounding out a 25-14, 25-1, 25-9 win in a quarterfinal match of the Region 1B volleyball tournament.

Katelyn Schroeder had 11 kills and 12 digs to lead the Lady Pats, who move to 29-2 with the win.

Lila Johnson and Gracyn Bixler passed around 16 and 12 set assists, respectively, for H-T, while Isabel Gilbert claimed six ace serves and Johnson added seven aces.

Next up for the Lady Pats is a battle with the No. 3 seeded Northwestern Wildcats, 30-5, on Thursday night.

Northwestern dispatched Langford Area Tuesday night in straight sets as well.

Clark/Willow Lake 3, Elkton-Lake Benton 1
WILLOW LAKE The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones downed the Elkton-Lake Benton Elks Tuesday night, 3-1, in the opening round of Region 2A volleyball. Set scores for the Cyclones were 25-12, 25-19, 23-25, 25-22.

Shay Michalski led the Cyclones with 19 big kills, while Shelby Begeman added 10.

Sami Brenden had 31 assists and Valley Roebke clocked three aces, while Zoey Helkin had 18 digs and Kate Larson added 14.

Clark/Willow Lake, 18-7, will now get to travel to face top-seeded Hamlin Thursday night, with a trip to the SoDak 16 on the line.

No stats were available for the Elks.

Colman-Egan 3, Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 0
COLMAN The Colman-Egan Hawks ended the season for the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks Tuesday night, with a 3-0 straight sets win (25-16, 25-17, 25-16) win in a quarterfinal match in the Region 3B volleyball tournament.

The Hawks, now 22-5, were led by Brynlee Landis 16 kills, while both Finley Luze and Kaylee Volker added five kills.

Voelker had 13 sets and Luze tacked on nine and Presley Luze led the defense with 11 digs.

Liz Boschee collected six kills, Kaylie Robinson had five and Addi Bartholow chalked up four for the Blackhawks, who close the book on an 18-11 season. Both Kenzie Schley and Kali Hofer had nine assists. Bartholow led the defense with 14 digs and Robinson had nine.

Castlewood 3, Iroquois/Lake Preston 0
CASTLEWOOD The top-seeded Castlewood Warriors moved to 17-10 on the season and will face De Smet Thursday night, after they Warriors defeated the Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks in a quarterfinal game in the Region 2B volleyball tournament.

Set scores for Castlewood were 25-13, 25-7, 25-5.

No stats were available for the Warriors, but Hadlee Holt and Kera Dubro each had four kills for the Sharks, who end the season 7-24. Trinity Pirlet had 13 digs and an ace and Brityn Davies had 24 set assists.

Castlewood will host De Smet on Thursday for a chance at the SoDak 16 round of play.
