HURON Tony Lee Caldwell, age 56, passed away from pneumonia, peacefully, on Wednesday, November 23, 2024, in Huron. He is now at peace after his journey to the Spirit World.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center in Agency Village.
An all-night wake begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, also at the Community Center.
Honorary casket bearers are Joseph Jones, Nathan Faber, Michael Lynch, Galin Larson, Brandon Jenson and Dave Johnson.
Tony was born in Sisseton, on August 21, 1968 and was adopted by Woody and Rochelle Caldwell on August 19, 1969, two days before his first birthday. He attended school in Harrisburg and graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1987. Tony was involved in karate and reached the brown belt level. He was involved in track, cross country and basketball. He lived as an adult mostly in Sioux Falls, Watertown and Huron. In addition, he was the manager of Randalls Foods and later Coborns for many years in Huron.
He leaves behind his daughter Molly Caldwell (who was his whole world!); Mollys mother Sara Jones-Larson and her son Joseph Jones; his mother Rochelle; brothers Ric Caldwell and Johnny LaBatte; birth father John Eagle; four sisters, and many other members of his family.
Tony is preceded in death by his father, Woody, in 2005 and many friends.
