Iroquois School hosts Veterans Day program

Iroquois School students and staff hosted a Veterans Day Program on Monday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m. in the school gym with Superintendent Mike Ruth as Master of Ceremonies.

Veterans, community members, students and staff were in attendance.
The preschool and kindergarten students started off the program by leading everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the High School Choir singing the National Anthem.

The high school band, Little Chief choir, middle school choir and high school choir each performed songs honoring our veterans. Sophomore, Emma Eckmann also performed Taps on her trumpet.

Mr, Wipfssenior Government class did a representation of the Missing Man Table. Each item on the Missing Man Table represents the emotions and feelings reserved for those who did not come home. The ceremony symbolizes that they are with us, here in spirit. All Americans should never forget the brave men and women who answered our nations call to serve and fought for our freedom with honor.

All veterans in attendance were recognized and asked to come forward so that the elementary students could personally tell them Thank You and give them handmade cards and posters.

Following the program veterans were invited to stay for cookies made by Mrs. Dants Culinary class. The elementary students also made artwork to decorate the gym.
