HURON Huron assistant cross country coach Julie King was named Area 4/West Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2024 by the South Dakota Cross Country Track and Field Coaches Association.
Hannah Caffee of Miller was named the Area 3 Assistant COTY.
The Area 4 West girls honor went to Andy VanDeest of Spearfish, while the boys honor went to Greg Murley of Aberdeen Central.
Ralph Krotch of Philip received the Class B honor for Area 4/West, while Karin Karum of Custer received the Class A honor.
In Area 3, Stephanie McCord of Kimball/White Lake won the Class B honor, while Shannon Jewett of Cheyenne-Eagle Bute received the Class A honor.
Todd Thorson of Ipswich won the Class B honor in Area 1, while Brian Tvedt of Deuel received the honor in Class A. Derek Boekelheide of Northwestern was the assistant COTY.
In Area 2/East, Julie Eppard of Arlington won the Class B honor, while Luke VanderLeest of Sioux Falls Christian claimed the Class A honor.
The AA East girls honor went to Matthew Genrich of Harrisburg, while the boys honor went to Luke Jelen of Sioux Falls Lincoln.
The Area 2/East assistant honor went to Tim Ackerman of Sioux Falls Christian.
