MILLER For the second year in a row, Millers Jolie Palmer was selected to the Class A All-State Volleyball first team, which was announced Monday by the South Dakota Volleyball Coaches Association.
Palmer, a junior libero, helped the Rusters to the consolation championship at this years Class A State Volleyball Tournament.
Jolie is one of the best on both sides of the ball with her first ball contact on serve receive to begin our offense and on defense with the dig, Miller coach Linda DeBoer said. She reads the opponents offense with her high volleyball IQ which enables her to read where the ball is going and make the play.
Palmer was in her third season as a starter for the Rustlers during the 2024 season. She finished the season with 515 digs and was 519 of 537 for 97% in serve receive.
Offensively, Palmer was 88 of 112 attacking with 13 kills, while converting on 243 of 243 sets with 67 assists. She was 448 of 476 serving with 81 aces.
Jolie plays with grit and determination every time she is on the court, whether it be practice or a competition, elevating not only her own skill execution but that of the team as well, DeBoer said. She is a great position leader and motivational leader on the court and off. She shares her vision and court awareness with her teammates making her an excellent example of what our communication should sound like.
