Sharon Gleeson, age 85, of Sioux Falls

HURON Sharon Gleeson, age 85, of Sioux Falls, and formerly of Huron, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
Her funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home in Huron.
Visitation, with family present, will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Sharon J. Gleeson was born Sharon Joyce Ebel on September 9, 1939 to Oscar and Edna (Fischer) Ebel at Eureka. She went to school at Artas, Ipswich, Eureka, and Miller. She graduated from Miller High School in 1957. She then moved to Huron with her mom and sister.
Sharon married James A. Sorenson on January 14, 1961. She then married Sydney O. Gleeson on April 1, 1967. Sharon did a lot of babysitting, cleaned houses and worked many years in restaurants as a waitress, hostess, and dishwasher.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Dawn Sorenson of Sioux Falls; two granddaughters, Ashley Sorenson and Jerika Sorenson of Mitchell; three great-grandchildren Autymn, Alyse, and Avrie; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and special friend Nikole Jenks.
She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Ebel, mother Edna Peck, stepfather Clifford Peck; all her grandparents; her daughter, Sheena Ranee Edna Sorenson; her son, Christopher Sorenson; and her sister, Sheila Nelson of Huron.
