Area basketball teams ranked in preseason polls

HURON Four area basketball teams were included in the Preseason South Dakota Prep Media Basketball Poll, which was released Monday.

The Huron boys basketball team was ranked No. 4 in Class AA. Mitchell holds the top spot in Class AA, followed by Sioux Falls Washington and Sioux Falls Lincoln.

Wessington Springs was No. 5 in the Class B boys rankings, while De Smet also received votes.

The lone area girls basketball team in the preseason rankings was Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, which is No. 3 in Class B.
