RAPID CITY Regan Miles of of Doland went 5-2 to finish fourth at 165 pounds during the Rapid City Girls Invitational, which concluded Saturday.
Miles pinned Rhianonen Heimdal of Harrisburg in 51 seconds to reach the semifinals, but suffered a 6-2 loss to Marieda Kalahar of Raid City Stevens to end her bid for a title. She rebound with an 8-1 decision against Lilly Nelson of Aberdeen Central to reach the third-place match, where she was pinned by Heimdal in a rematch.
Chalie Sah at 107 was the lone place-winner for Huron. She used a pin against Chloe Caton of Yankton to finish seventh.
Pierre won the team title in the 50-team event with 200.5 points. Bismarck (N.D.) was second at 178.5, followed by Canton at 156, Watertown at 143.5. Dickinson (N.D.) and Harrisburg shared the fifth spot with scores of 138.
Huron tied for 24th at 41, while Miller/Highmore-Harrold was 27th at 40.
Sturgis wins title at Rapid City Invitational
RAPID CITY Sturgis claimed the title during the Rapid City Invitational, which concluded Saturday, with 235 points.
Rounding out the top five were Bismarck (N.D.) at 169, Watertown at 163, Rapid City Stevens at 160 and Kelly Walsh (Wyo.) at 131.
Huron, which didnt have a placer in the varsity portion of the event, tied for 43rd with 16 points.
Ryder Siedschlag was sixth for Huron at 126 pounds in the junior varsity portion of the event.
Ben Cardona was seventh for the Tigers in JV at 190.
The Huron wrestling team will make its home debut on Thursday with a 7 p.m., match against Mitchell at Huron Arena.
