Overtime goal lifts Yankton past All-Stars

YANKTON An unassisted goal by Rylan Murphy in overtime gave Yankton a 5-4 victory against the Huron All-Stars on Saturday.

Huron, which was seeking its first win of the season, used a pair of goals in the first period to stake an early lead.

Alexander Timm opened the scoring for the All-Stars with an unassisted goal. Diego Colon had the second goal, with Carlos Ardon assisting on the play.

With goals from Tucker Renken and Connor Perakslis, the Bucks pulled even in the second period.

However, Huron would carry a 3-2 lead into the final period. Mason Hunter scored on a pass from Skyler Casper-Houghtaling.

Yankton pulled even once again with the opening goal of the third period, but the All-Stars answered with a an unassisted goal by Jace Bales to regain the advantage at 4-3 with 5:58 remaining in the game.

With 3:33 left on the clock, the Bucks evened the score for a third time with Renkens second goal of the game. It came on a pass from Easton Vellek.

Yankton finished with 65 shots on goal, while the All-Stars managed just 24 shots.
Ryan Turner earned the win in the net for the Bucks with 20 saves.

Jack Bales had 60 saves for Huron.

YANKTON Using a goal in overtime, Yankton got past Huron 4-3 in a junior varsity game on Saturday.

Both teams scored a goal in the opening period.

Huron capitalized on power play with just 52 seconds remaining in the first period.

Micah Metter scored, with assists going to Mason Hunter and Jace Bales.

The All-Stars scored back-to-back goals to take their first lead of the game.

Jaxon Greenfield had the first goal, with assists goin to Carlos Ardon and Micah Larson.

Elliot Hartman had the second goal, assisted by Larson and Alexander Timm.

Garrett Haas had 38 saves in the net for Yankton. Kaleb Rashaad stopped 28 shots for the All-Stars.
