Highmore-Harrold 54, James Valley Christian 11
HIGHMORE After building a 38-4 lead in the opening half, Highmore-Harrold secured its second win of the season with a 54-11 victory against James Valley Christian on Tuesday.

Jada Baloun had 17 points to lead the Pirates, who are now 2-0. Elle Stagg also reached double figures with 11 points, while Tenley McDonnell added nine points.

Addison McDonnell grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds for Highmore-Harrold. Autumn Gallis had four assists, while Baloun, Tenley McDonnell and Destiny McCauley each had three steals.

Janiyah Waldner led JVC (0-1) with four points.

Both teams return to action Thursday. Highmore-Harrold travels to play Potter County in Hoven, while the Lady Vikings host Ethan.

IROQUOIS A huge game from junior guard Jaelyn Huntimer led the Arlington Cardinals to a 49-34 victory over the Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks on Monday in Iroquois.

Huntimer netted 36 points to lead the Cardinals, who move to 2-1. Arlington broke open a one-point halftime game by outscoring the Sharks 32-18 tin the second half for the win.

Kera Dubro and Hadlee Holt scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, for the Sharks, now 1-1.

Iroquois/Lake Preston hosts Elkton-Lake Benton on Thursday in Iroquois.

DE SMET The De Smet Bulldogs needed a huge comeback to force overtime, but ran out of gas as the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones outscored the Bulldogs 11-3 in overtime to earn a 62-54 victory Tuesday at Marv McCune Court in De Smet.

The Cyclones move to 2-0 with three players in double-figure scoring, led by Sullivan Fellberg with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Bo Begeman added 13 points and Emmerson Larson chipped in 12 points.

The Bulldogs (1-1) were led by a monster game from Grant Wilkinson, who had 25 points and 19 rebounds. Noah Luethmers added 11.

The Bulldogs will travel to Estelline/Hendricks Thursday while the Cyclones travel to Milbank Thursday.
